Painting Services in Vancouver
Painting is not one job. Repainting a bedroom, protecting the outside of a house through a wet Vancouver winter, refreshing a retail space and coating a facility floor all call for different prep, different products and a different plan. Celestial Painting offers four core services, so you can start with the one that matches your project.
Celestial Painting has been painting across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for more than 25 years. Below you'll find what each service covers, how to tell which one you need, how a typical project runs, and the questions we hear most often. Each service has its own page with the full detail.

Our Four Painting Services
Every service below has a dedicated page that goes into the process, the surfaces involved and the questions people ask before they book. This is the short version.
Interior Painting
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors in homes and small residential-scale spaces. Furniture and floors are protected, surfaces are patched, sanded and primed where needed, and the finish is chosen room by room instead of one sheen across the whole house.
Read about interior painting in Vancouver, including the sheen guide and the full process.
Exterior Painting
Siding, trim, fascia, soffits and doors, with the repair work done first: caulking, sanding, patching and priming. Timing matters in Vancouver's climate, so the plan follows the weather forecast, not just the calendar.
See our exterior painting page for the painting season, the surface guide and the checklist before we arrive.
Commercial Painting
Painting for offices, retail spaces and other business premises, planned around how the business operates so that staff can keep working and customers aren't walking through wet paint.
Our commercial painting page covers how a project is scheduled around a working space.
Industrial Painting
Coatings for facilities and heavy-duty surfaces such as concrete floors and structural steel, where the coating is protecting an asset and not only decorating it.
Find out how we approach industrial painting on a site that is often still operating.
Which Service Do You Need?
Most people know which service they need as soon as they describe the property. If you're not sure, this is how the four services usually divide up:
It's my home, inside
Repainting rooms, ceilings, trim or doors in a house, condo or townhouse is interior painting. A home office counts as part of the home.
It's the outside of my home
Siding, trim, fascia and doors on the outside of a house is exterior painting, and the weather decides the timing as much as you do.
It's an office, shop or other business space
Business premises that need to keep operating while the work happens are a commercial project, whether the work is inside or outside the building.
It's a factory, warehouse or other facility
Floors, structural steel and heavy-use surfaces are industrial work. A warehouse that is mostly office and light storage is often closer to a commercial job; one with heavy equipment traffic, chemical storage or steel needing corrosion protection is closer to industrial.
Many projects cross more than one line, for example a home with both interior and exterior work, or a property with offices and a warehouse. Tell us the whole scope at the estimate and we'll sort out how it fits together rather than asking you to guess the category.
Painting in Vancouver's Climate
Vancouver's coastal humidity and long wet season shape almost every painting decision, indoors as well as out. Paint needs the right temperature and dry time to cure properly, and a surface that's damp, chalking or covered in old failed paint won't hold a new coat for long.
Outside, that means the weather decides the schedule: late spring through early fall is usually the most reliable window, and winter exterior painting is generally not worth the risk. Inside, windows that stay closed through the damp months mean ventilation and drying time need to be planned rather than rushed. Our service pages go into the detail for each case, but the principle is the same everywhere: we plan the job around the conditions, not around the calendar alone.
What Every Project Has in Common
The four services are different jobs, but the approach behind them is the same:
- Prep comes first. Patching, sanding, cleaning and priming are what decide how long a finish lasts, so they are never skipped to save a visit.
- A clear estimate before work starts. You get a price, and a plan for the timing, before anything is booked.
- A tidy, protected job site. Floors, furniture, fixtures and anything that can't be moved are protected, and the space is cleaned up before we leave.
- Honest advice. If a room doesn't need a third coat, or the weather isn't right for exterior work, we'll say so instead of selling you work you don't need.
We confirm anything specific to your project, such as surface condition, access, approvals or deadlines, during the estimate. Nothing about the plan should come as a surprise on the day the crew arrives.
What Affects the Price of a Painting Project
We give you a clear price only after seeing the space, because the same square footage can be a very different job. These are the factors that move the number most:
- Size. The surface area to be painted, and how many rooms, floors or buildings are involved.
- Condition. Peeling paint, water damage, cracks or old failed coatings add repair and prep time.
- Access. Height, tight spaces, stairs or limited hours of access slow the work down.
- Colour and coats. A big colour change or a dark-to-light switch usually means primer and extra coats.
- Timing. Deadlines, after-hours work and tight windows can change how the job is staffed and scheduled.
- Surface and finish. Different surfaces and finishes need different products and different amounts of work.
That's why you won't find a flat price list here. A walkthrough takes the guesswork out, and the cost guide linked below explains the same factors in more detail.
How a Painting Project Runs
The details change from service to service, but most projects follow the same five steps:
1. Walkthrough and estimate
We look at the space, listen to what you need, and flag anything that could affect the timeline or price, such as water damage, older surfaces or access. You get a clear estimate before anything is booked.
2. Planning the timing
We agree on timing that suits you and the work, whether that means weather-dependent exterior work, rooms done one at a time, or a schedule built around business hours.
3. Protection and prep
Floors and furniture are protected, trim and fixtures are masked, and surfaces are repaired, cleaned and primed where needed.
4. Painting
Even coats with proper drying time between them, carried out in the agreed sections or hours.
5. Final walkthrough
We check the finished work with you, touch up anything that needs it, and clean up before calling the job done.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes — a walkthrough or site assessment and a clear price before anything is booked, with no obligation.
How do I know which painting service I need?
Start with the property: inside a home is interior, the outside of a home is exterior, a business space is commercial, and a facility with heavy-use surfaces is industrial. If it doesn't fit neatly, describe the project at the estimate and we'll help you work out which fits.
Can interior and exterior painting be done as one project?
Yes. A full-home refresh often includes both, and we can plan the two together. Exterior work depends on the weather, so we'll agree on timing for each part during the estimate.
Do you paint businesses as well as homes?
Yes. Our commercial and industrial services are for business premises and facilities, and they are planned differently from residential work because the space often has to keep operating.
Which areas do you serve?
We work across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Delta, New Westminster, Coquitlam, South Surrey and Langley.
What happens at the estimate?
We look at the space, talk through what you want, point out anything that could affect cost or timing, and give you a clear price before anything is booked.
How far ahead should I book?
It depends on the size of the project and your deadline. Exterior work is limited by the weather, and projects tied to a sale, a move or an opening date need more lead time, so ask early if timing matters.
How long will my project take?
It varies with the size and condition of the space, the amount of prep, and drying or curing time. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the estimate instead of a generic number.
